Lady Catherine’s Diary by Terry Greer

Jangada: Lady Catherine’s Diary

Synopsis: Jangada Book 1:

When tragedy strikes his family, Oran, the exiled and dying ruler of the drifting island of Haadrat, becomes embroiled in a sinister plot that echoes back to the long-forgotten origins of the world of Jangada.
Review: Tragedy strikes early in this story. We come in with Oran and Catherine reflecting on losing their last son, leaving them with only one living child, their daughter, who is married to the current ruler of Haadrat. The action kicks off fast as Lady Catherine is next, followed by their daughter. The discovery of Catherine’s diary reveals that the lady, who was thought to have lost her memory of her life before being found by Oran, has not truly lost it and has many secrets. Her murder wasn’t politically motivated and she’s kept a lot secret from her husband. Oran, of course, is dying, but determined to find answers and justice for the death of his entire family.
The story just flew by rather quickly for me once it started. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series
